Fostering Еxchange of Best Practices on Anti-corruption

In September 26-30 2022 Research & Training Point Foundation facilitated a study visit for a Bulgarian delegation to the headquarters of the Romanian anti-corruption bodies. The group of Bulgarian trainees gathered representatives of the Commission for Anticorruption and Illegal Assets Forfeiture, the Chief Inspectorate of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Justice, the Chamber of Investigators in Bulgaria and the Prosecutor's Office.

A series of working meetings were held with experts from key Romanian institutions: the National Integrity Agency (A.N.I.), the Ministry of Justice, the General Anticorruption Directorate, the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism, the National Anticorruption Directorate and the National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets. The sessions covered topics such as the competences of the anti-corruption agencies, their interoperability and the legislative environment they are working in. Lecturers presented good practices and success cases in the work of law enforcement in Romania. The participants discussed the policies in the area of ​​the rule of law and the recommendations of the European Commission.

The study visit was held within the frame of a project funded by the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
