The final project conference was co-hosted by Sofia University and RTP Foundation. The event gathered researchers, faculty and students from the partner universities of the Learn.Inc project – Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu (Romania), Hellenic Open University (Greece), Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University (Turkiye), and Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski (Bulgaria). During the two-day hybrid event (in in-person and online), the speakers delivered lectures the challenge-based learning and research and shared their achievements with the local and international attendants. Speakers and participants discussed the potential of innovative teaching and training for adapting university curricula and pedagogies to meet the demands of students.
In the final conference panel, St. Velev and L. Kelenderov, both professors from SU, took participants on a stunning visual journey to the Antarctic, sharing stories and artefacts from their research as members of the Bulgarian polar expeditions to Livingston Island. Their passion for science and exploring the frontiers of natural life put challenge-based teaching and learning in a new perspective, emphasizing the role of responsible research for tackling the grand societal challenges of the future.
