In October 2020 Research & Training Point Foundation began the implementation of Project UniverCity, funded by Erasmus+ Programme of the EU. Dr Snezhina Gabova from RTP took part in the kick-off meeting
in Sofia, held in November and hosted by Sofia University. She represented the Foundation as a partner in the consortium led by Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", bringing together the efforts of Italian, Bulgarian and Romanian higher education institutions and NGOs.
UNIVERCITY is a 3-year project, aimed at encouraging grass-root initiatives to foster cooperation between academia, business and local authorities to work on important societal challenges at local level. To do so the project will adopt the Community Research Awards approach developed by the University of Plymouth. Using its experience it will organizing two rounds of granting contest to encourage bottom-up ideas and activities and present an innovative model for decentralized project-based policy making.
